The City of Canning is delighted to once again be hosting VacSwim at its Cannington and Riverton Leisureplexes these September-October school holidays.
Run by the WA Department of Education, the VacSwim swimming program gives children across Western Australia the skills to stay safe and build their confidence in the water.
As a result of VacSwim, there will be limited availability of our pools from 8am - 3.30pm from Wednesday, 25 September to Friday, 4 October 2024, mainly affecting:
- Leisure pools at all Leisureplex locations: The 50m Pool at Riverton Leisureplex and the 25m Pool at Cannington Leisureplex.
Please note, enrolment to VacSwim does not cover admission to the Leisureplex. VacSwim admission prices can be paid daily, upon arrival, at the Leisureplex:
- $5.00 per student
- $2.00 per spectator
Note: The state government recently announced complimentary/free entry for the VacSwim program, including free entry to the facilities, however this applies only to the Dec/Jan VacSwim program.
During the VacSwim period, we recommend visiting our pools during the afternoon, where it will be less busy. You can also get up-to-date pool lane availability here.
If you have any questions regarding pool availability or the VacSwim program, feel free to reach out to our team at leisureplex@canning.wa.gov.au.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at the Leisureplex.
