The City of Canning’s Civic Amphitheatre will come alive, bringing the community together to celebrate the festive season and rock the night away at the City’s annual Christmas Carols Concert on Saturday 14 December.
The free family event will kick off at 5.30pm with kid’s activities including Santa’s post box, face painting, roving entertainers, craft activities, as well as plenty of festive photo opportunities.
Then from 6pm – 8.30pm, the full festivities will begin with lots of merry tunes, a range of fantastic performances, and of course a very special visit from Santa.
Performances will feature the Canning City Brass Band, Rossmoyne Community Singers, Avenue Jazz Band, Enchanted Bells and more.
Mayor Patrick Hall said the Christmas Carols Concert is the perfect opportunity to get together with family and friends to celebrate the festive season.
“This time of year, is all about spending time with loved ones, being grateful for the year that we have had, looking forward to the year ahead, thinking of those less fortunate than us, and remembering the true meaning of Christmas.
“Each year we have a fantastic turn out at this event. The City’s free Christmas Carols Concert is the perfect place to catch-up and embrace the festive spirit and it's great to see our entire community coming together to celebrate this very special time of year,” Mayor Hall said.
Community members can bring a low chair, rug and picnic and enjoy a great evening of singing and entertainment. There will also be food trucks, with snacks and refreshments available for purchase.
Limited free parking will be available off Carden Drive with plenty of bays off George Street West.
Bike racks will also be available at the event and there is a bus stop on Albany Highway directly out the front of the Council building.
