The 2024 Canning Job Expo invites more attendees to unlock their potential
16 February 2024

After an overwhelming response from the community last year, the Canning Job Expo returns for 2024, this time to be held on Saturday, 9 March in the Function Room at the City of Canning's Civic Administration Centre.

The free event offers jobseekers with valuable face-to-face workshops and networking opportunities to grow in their career path.

With over 40 stall holders in attendance, there will be a range of representation across many different industries such as aged care and disability sectors, to hospitality, construction, engineering and mining where there are immediate vacancies to fill.

A diverse range of local and national organisations will be in attendance, including Camco Engineering, WA Police, Good Sammy, Australian Defence Force, Driving Risk Management and Australian Red Cross.

The City of Canning will also be actively hiring for a variety of positions. Staff will be present at the expo to promote current vacancies, from casual part-time and full-time roles throughout the different service areas in the City.

Those looking to standout with their resume or even touch up on their interview skills, will be able to attend free interactive workshops on the day with experienced career advisers.

City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said the event is about providing a place to break down barriers for job seekers, explore future training options and start their journey towards professional success.

“With businesses, training providers and career advisers all under one roof, we aim to support job seekers in taking the next steps in their career by providing them with a wide range of networking and business opportunities,”

“The expo last year saw a fantastic turnout with over 600 attendees and 30 stall holders from a variety of diverse businesses and organisations. This year we are expecting it to be bigger and more dynamic for the community,” said Mayor Hall.
