Introducing Garry Fisher, Director of Customer & Community

The City of Canning is delighted to announce the appointment of Garry Fisher as our new Director of Customer and Community.

Garry joins us from the City of Kwinana, where he served as Director City Life, overseeing Community Engagement and Community Services. Known for his transformational leadership and commitment to enhancing organisational culture, he will officially join Canning in October 2024.

“I’m excited to be joining the talented team at the City of Canning,” Garry said.

“I look forward to collaborating closely with the community and Council to shape the future of one of Western Australia’s most diverse communities.”

Announcing the appointment, CEO Michael Littleton extended a warm welcome to the City of Canning.

“Garry brings a wealth of strategic leadership experience and a passion for fostering engaged, innovative workplaces and communities,” explained Michael.

“We’re delighted to have him join the team as we work to build a brighter future for Canning.”

In his new role, Garry will lead the strategic direction of Community Development and Libraries, Community Safety, Recreation and Leisure Services, as well as Customer and Communications.
