Volunteering Opportunities
Looking to give back to the community? We offer both casual and ongoing volunteering opportunities, and share local volunteering opportunities through trusted community organisations and agencies.
City's Volunteering Opportunities
There are currently no casual volunteering opportunities on offer at the City of Canning. We encourage you to check back with us as we will reopen the Volunteer Recruitment Pool once additional opportunities become available.
Are you looking for short-term or one-off volunteering? Are you aged over 18+? Our InterConnect Volunteering role might be perfect for you.

There are currently no regular volunteering opportunities on offer at the City of Canning. We encourage you to check back with us as we will reopen the Volunteer Recruitment Pool once additional opportunities become available.
What is regular volunteering?
Our regular volunteers work with City staff to help deliver programs, activities, and events.
The regular volunteering roles are unique to the volunteering sector. As part of the role, you will have regular volunteer work and we will provide you training to help develop your skills and knowledge.
Regular roles don't have to be long term. Some roles are only for a short time (for example a school term or for a project) and can be managed alongside your other commitments.
All regular roles are advertised, and applicants are interviewed for the role.
It is not always possible for us to provide hands-on supervision during volunteer activities. As such, volunteers need to be aged 18+to apply for a volunteering role.
If you are under 18, the SEEK Volunteer website has opportunities for young volunteers.
For those aged 85 or older, whilst some insurance restrictions apply, you are more than welcome to be part of our volunteer program
