Reducing your environmental impact
The City provides opportunities for local businesses to understand and access practical options for reducing their environmental impact. This includes:
- resource recovery options that reduce waste to landfill and support a circular economy
- sustainable and low carbon transport options
- nature based solutions including increased tree canopy and best practice water management
- information on energy efficiency and renewable energy options.
Canning Decarbonisation Project

Climate Ready Canning
The City's Climate Ready Canning strategy sets out our commitment to supporting the community, including local businesses, in preparing for and responding to climate change. For businesses this includes access to incentives, educational resources and programs to support sustainability goals and contribute to the community net-zero target.
