Freo Street Doctor in Canning

Freo Street Doctor is a mobile medical health service facilitated by Black Swan Health.

The service provides a visible, easily accessible, and non-judgemental primary health care service. The service is for those in our community who are marginalised, disadvantaged and homeless.

The City first partnered with Black Swan Health in January 2022 by bringing a mobile health service to The Seventh-day Adventist Church Soup Kitchen in Cannington. Co-locating with Orange Sky Mobile Laundry service and Cannington Soup Kitchen.

In August 2023, the City received a Homelessness Week Lotterywest grant of $5,000 from Shelter WA. This contributed to the launch of a second trial, located at The Shop Front in Bentley. The Bentley trial is similarly co-located alongside Orange Sky mobile laundry service.

This enables the City to broaden partnerships and services to support some of our most vulnerable community members.

Canning locations

The Freo Street Doctor will deliver their service twice a week in Cannington and Bentley.

Cannington

Every Friday, the following services are available at The Seventh-day Adventist Church (142 Wharf Street, Cannington):

• Freo Street Doctor Service, 1.30pm – 4.30pm
• Orange Sky Mobile Laundry, 5pm – 7pm
• Cannington Soup Kitchen, 6pm – 7pm

Bentley

Every Tuesday, the following services are available at The Shop Front (59 John Street, Bentley):

• Freo Street Doctor Service, 10am – 1pm
• Orange Sky Mobile Laundry, 11.30am – 1.30pm
• The Shop Soup Kitchen, 11am – 1pm
