Bike Road Safety Skills

Learn the skills of safe riding including road rules, hand signals, and bike control through a series of fun games and activities conducted on the practice track.

What Kids Will Learn:

  • How to fit a helmet the right way
  • Basic bike balance and control
  • Safe stopping and turning techniques
  • Hand signals for riding on paths
  • How to watch out for hazards

Who: Children aged 6 to 12 years old only, must be able to ride a 2 wheeled bike independently. Parents or guardians must stay for the duration of the event.

When: Saturday 3 October 2026, 2pm - 3.30pm

Where: Hossack Park Skills Track, Hossack Avenue, Parkwood

What to Bring:

  • A working bicycle
  • A properly fitted helmet
  • A full water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Closed-toe shoe

If you can no longer attend, please contact sustainability@canning.wa.gov.au as soon as possible so your ticket can be reallocated (tickets are limited to 15 people).
