Celebrate Navratri with Group of Nagarsheth, a local Gujarati musical family singing Garba live for over 30 years. Enjoy a night of Garba and Dandiya with live singing and dhol, Indian street food stalls and a friendly, family atmosphere, the night before Navratri begins.
Group of Nagarsheth is a Gujarati musical family from Perth. For over 30 years the Nagarsheth family has sung Garba live for Navratri, first on big Navratri stages in Gujarat, then in Perth since 2012. Every Garba and Dandiya song on the night is sung live, with traditional melodies, harmonium and live dhol, the way Navratri is celebrated at home in Gujarat.
Father and son Vipul and Darp Nagarsheth lead the music, joined by Perth's best rhythm players. Whether you grew up with Garba or it's your first time, you'll be dancing in the circle within minutes.
Everyone is welcome, with no dance experience needed. Free parking, kids under 5 free, alcohol and smoke-free.
