Canning Connect Economic Outlook Forum 2026
Continuing the City’d commitment to empowering and supporting the local economy, the City is hosting our latest Canning Connect Forum on 6 August 2026.
This networking gathering will socialise two pieces of new independent research – the CCIWA Leading Industry Sector Analysis and the Y Research Commercial Property Vacancy Review to our business community, plus launch our new Investment Prospectus.
The Leading Industry Sector Analysis is a deep look at Canning’s six largest industry sectors, what’s driving them, and where the growth opportunities lie. The CCIWA research focuses on:Transport, Postal & Warehousing (3,979 businesses); Construction (1,576); Professional, Scientific & Technical (1,122); Health Care (801); Wholesale Trade (548); Manufacturing (542), which combined represent 65% of registered businesses and 75% of jobs in Canning. The analysis provides insights into employment trends, business characteristics, market conditions and supply chain and investment opportunities.
The Commercial Property Vacancy Review is a precinct-by-precinct read on our industrial, retail and office markets, and what current conditions mean for your business decisions. It mentions Canning Vale industrial vacancy ~5.5% (vs Perth market 1.5–2.5%) – WA’s largest pool of 2,000m²+ vacancies, and is well placed to capture relocating tenants.
A panel with the report authors will discuss questions raised by the audience and help to ensure the relevance of the event for all the businesses in attendance.
Together, these reports give Canning's business community a clearer, data-led picture of the year ahead – with the chance to put your questions directly to the panel.
