Sewer Investigation and Renewal Works - Water Corporation
Water Corporation’s contractor, Interflow, will undertake sewer investigations and targeted renewal works across selected areas of the Perth metropolitan area, including parts of the City of Canning.
The works will help assess the condition of ageing sewer infrastructure and, where required, reline sections of pipe to improve reliability and extend the life of the network by at least 50 years.
When will works occur?
Works are scheduled to commence 7 September 2026 and are expected to continue through to early 2027.
Interflow will generally work:
- Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm
- Saturdays, if required
Investigations at each location are expected to take around one day. Where renewal is required, relining works may take an additional two to three days. Crews may return to the same area over several weeks.
What to expect
Works may occur on roads, verges and, where necessary, private properties. Residents and businesses may experience increased activity, noise from vehicles and generators, temporary odours and traffic management around work areas.
If access to your property is required, Interflow will contact you directly to arrange entry.
Residents may be asked to minimise wastewater use and keep toilet lids closed while work is underway. If you notice an unusual bathroom odour, flush the toilet and pour water down the floor drain.
