Whaleback tees up fun new driving range competition
31 January 2024

Whaleback Golf Course has launched an exciting new golf skills competition that aims to challenge players’ accuracy, with prizes up for grabs for those who top the weekly leaderboard.

The free-to-enter Nearest the Pin Challenge takes place throughout February at the Whaleback Driving Range. Golfers will make use of TopTracer Range technology to try to hit their ball onto the virtual green of four famous virtual golf holes. Those who hit it closest will be eligible for the weekly prizes.

Open to all golfers, the length of the holes vary from 80 metres (Pebble Beach) to 153 metres (the Old Course at St Andrews) and highlights one of the many innovative features that the range has to offer visitors. From a variety of golfing games to instant data feedback on each shot, TopTracer makes practising more fun for everyone.

Week 1: 1-8 February – Torry Pines 3rd hole (95m)
Week 2: 9-15 February – Pebble Beach 7th hole (80m)
Week 3: 16-22 February – Spyglass Hill 15th hole (69m)
Week 4: 23-29 February – St Andrew Old Course 11th hole (153m)
