Safety Around Schools

The City of Canning has a significant student population, which makes it vital the City provides safety around schools.

The City is home to:

  • 22 primary and pre-primary schools
  • five senior high schools
  • five colleges
  • one purpose built special school
  • three education support centres.

This is why the City supports a wide range of activities to help keep young people safe around school.

Community Safety Officers and patrols

Community Safety Officers patrol schools when students are being dropped off and picked up. This helps to provide a safer environment for students.

At the beginning of each school year, the Officers work with school communities to promote safety around schools. To assist our school community, the City has developed a Safety Around Schools brochure.
