Events are a wonderful way of bringing people together. Within the City of Canning, we have a team committed to providing helpful advice to aid the successful delivery of your event. We review all event applications and aim to facilitate the delivery of safe and successful events. The City is enthusiastic about seeing diverse, colourful, inclusive and sustainable events in our community, and we’re here to help.

Under 200 people (private or public event)
For example family gatherings, sports carnivals, celebrations, and fetes.

Timeframes for event applications
Under 200 people
- Private events – 14 days (2 weeks) before your proposed event
- Public events – 30 to 60 days (6 – 8 weeks) before your proposed event (this deadline depends on the nature of your event, our team can discuss this with you.)
Over 200 people
Application to be submitted 60 business days (12 weeks) before your proposed event.
You are required to set up an initial meeting at least 80 business days (16 weeks) prior to your proposed event. Events with a shorter planning timeframe will not be accepted. In this initial meeting we will talk you through and provide the application and planning processes, as well as discuss your event requirements.
