What will we do at ABCD English?
ABCD English is an interactive program involving lots of talking, singing, reading and craft. Parents (or a caregiver) are taking part in the program with their children.
How long is ABCD English?
Sessions run for 1 hour. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to check-in. Once checked in, families enjoy shared reading time until the session starts.
How many sessions can we attend?
Each child is able to attend 9 sessions before joining our mainstream storytime program. A staff member will mark your names off on arrival. After nine sessions, your child will receive a certificate and is encouraged to attend Storytime sessions.
Do I need to know any English to take part in the program?
It is recommended that the caregiver or parent speak some English.
How old should my child be to take part in ABCD English?
ABCD English is designed for ages 3-5 years. Children must participate with a caregiver or parent.
My child is too young?
If your child is younger than 3, we encourage them to attend our Rhymes sessions.
Where is ABCD English held?
ABCD English is run at Cannington Library located at 233 Sevenoaks Street, Cannington WA 6107.
When is ABCD English held?
ABCD English is run only during the school term on Thursday. Sign-in is from 9.45 and the session runs from 10.00 -11.00 am.
Can I bring more than one child?
Sessions are best with one on one interactions between parent/caregiver and the registered child. This enables participants to gain the most from the experience. Please arrange alternate childcare for siblings.
Do I need to register?
Yes, you must register online before attending the program. Registrations can be made by visiting the ABCD English Registration page. Soon after you register online, you will be contacted with information about your start date.
