Group fitness classes

Our Leisureplexes provide an amazing variety of fun and engaging group fitness programs.

You can book classes online. Bookings open 21 hours before the class start time.

You can book classes online. Bookings open 21 hours before the class start time.

Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before the class starting as late entry is not permitted.

The best way to attend as many classes as possible is to become a Fitness Member. Visit the Memberships page to learn more. You can also buy 10 multi-passes or pay casually at the main reception.

Cancelling a class

Members must cancel classes they can no longer attend. This allows other members to attend group fitness classes.

How to cancel your class

  1. Open the booking portal and log in to your account.
  2. Click the Group Fitness tile.
  3. Click View Admission Tickets.
  4. Select the class booking(s) you wish to cancel.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the Admission Ticket page and click Cancel Admission.
  6. Reconfirm your cancellation by clicking the Cancel Admission button.
  7. Your selected class is now cancelled.

Class details

Group fitness classes are designed for those who prefer to exercise within a fun and positive group environment.

Taught by qualified instructors, classes are suitable for all fitness levels. We recommend trying a variety of classes and experience different instructors.

We have something for everybody. Work out with friends or join our vibrant group fitness community and make some new friends.

Yin Yoga

A slow-paced, meditative practice with long-held, passive poses (3–5 minutes or more) targeting deep connective tissues. Yin Yoga enhances flexibility, energy flow, emotional balance, and reduces stress, anxiety, and sleep issues.

Accessible for all levels, with props available. Please bring a bolster and small blanket for optimal comfort.

Yoga

An inclusive yoga practice emphasising slow, mindful movement and deep stretching to strengthen the entire core. The classes incorporate breathwork and guided meditation to promote relaxation and focus. Gentle and grounding, they encourage mindfulness and centring, suitable for all fitness levels.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Breath-led flowing sequences to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mental calm. Jiae adjusts intensity to suit participants’ skill levels, creating an energising and welcoming experience for all.

Restorative Yoga

A deeply relaxing class using props like bolsters and blankets to fully support the body in restful poses. Focuses on calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and restoring mental and physical well-being.

Sound Meditation with Susanna

Sound meditation sessions use a variety of instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, rain discs, wave harps, and koshi chimes to promote deep relaxation for the body and mind. When we are relaxed, the body is given the space to rejuvenate. A sound practitioner facilitates these sessions, using sound as a powerful tool for relaxation, transformation, and self-exploration.

Pilates

Pilates is a fantastic workout to improve your body’s core strength, flexibility, and awareness. It also helps support efficient, graceful movement.

We also provide Seniors Pilates. It has the same features and benefits as regular Pilates but has been designed specifically for seniors.

Seniors Pilates

A gentle and effective way to improve core strength, flexibility, balance, and posture. It supports graceful, efficient movement and enhances overall body awareness—all at a pace suited to older adults.

This class offers the same great benefits as regular Pilates, with movements tailored to meet the needs of seniors.

Tai Chi

A gentle movement class with proven benefits for both body and mind, especially helpful for older adults. These follow-along sessions are easy to participate in and focus on enhancing balance, coordination, and mental clarity in a safe, supportive environment.

Stretch

Stretch helps you find new stretching techniques and achieve greater flexibility. Stretching is a vital component of fitness, as it can help reduce injuries and boost the effectiveness of your workouts.

Revitalise Aqua

A water-based fitness class for older adults, designed to improve strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. Held in a shallow pool, it’s safe and suitable for all swimming abilities and offers a supportive, fun environment.

Aqua Fit

A cardio and conditioning workout performed in the water to support the body and provide resistance. Aqua is suitable for all ages over 16 years and caters for all levels of fitness.

Aqua Stick

A 55-minute resistance-based water class using a rigid plastic stick with foot bands. Targets strength, balance, and mobility, offering a more challenging full-body aqua workout.

A fun, high-energy water workout with a Latin twist. Combines cardio, toning, and body conditioning in a low-impact, joint-friendly format. Perfect for all fitness levels, Aqua Zumba brings the party to the pool while delivering serious fitness benefits.

Les Mills Core

A workout for toning and performance. It focuses on strength, stability, endurance, balance, and injury prevention.

You will work with resistance tubes and weight plates. It also includes body weight exercises like crunches. During the workout, trained instructors guide you through correct technique.

Les Mills Bodypump

Bodypump is full-body barbell workout. It can help burn calories, shape and tone your body, increase core strength, and improve bone health. By using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, Bodypump gives you a total body workout.

Instructors will coach you through the moves and techniques. You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Les Mills Tone

Tone mixes aerobic exercise, resistance training, stretching, and mobility work. It provides the optimal mix of strength, cardio, and core training.

A great foundational class, Tone has a variety of options to suit all fitness levels.

Les Mills Bodybalance

During Bodybalance you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves. You’ll improve your flexibility, increase core strength, and reduce stress levels. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises. You’ll strengthen your entire body and leave the class feeling calm and centred. Instructors will always provide options for those getting started.

Les Mills Bodystep

Basic stepping, just like walking up and down stairs, is at the heart of BODYSTEP® – a full-body cardio workout to really tone your butt and thighs.

In a BODYSTEP workout you can expect a mixture of upbeat, rhythmic stepping, with squat and lunge patterns to work the legs. Combine this with movements like burpees, push-ups and weight plate exercises, and the result is a fun, uplifting, full-body workout! Don’t worry, there’s heaps of options so that everyone leaves feeling successful.

Our bubbly and approachable Instructors will coach you through the workout. We play invigorating, hit music and inject a whole lot of fun and personality along the way. You can burn up to 540 calories and you’ll leave buzzing with satisfaction.

Les Mills Bodycombat

Step into a BODYCOMBAT® workout and you’ll punch and kick your way to fitness, burning up to 570 calories along the way.

This high-energy martial arts-inspired workout is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. A LES MILLS™ Instructor will challenge you to up the intensity and motivate you to make the most of every round. You’ll release stress, have a blast.

Les Mills Shapes

An invigorating blend of Pilates, barre, and power yoga set to modern beats. With small, controlled movements, you sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment and increase flexibility. It’s a low impact but intense way to heat up your training.

Getlow Konga

A lower-impact version of the signature Konga workout, blending simple dance, boxing, cardio, and sculpting moves into an easy-to-follow routine. Bootcamp

Bootcamp is an outdoor class featuring fitness tests, harder exercises, cardio activities, and team challenges. It is designed to push you to your limits.

Classes offer a full-body workout that builds strength, agility, and fitness. Suitable for all ages over 16 years and all levels of fitness. Instructors provide options to ensure those from all fitness levels can take part.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink bottle and towel. All other equipment is provided.

Bootcamp is available at Riverton Leisureplex.

GymFit

GymFit is a unique gym-based circuit class similar to boot camp. It provides a great full body workout. The instructor will take you through exercises focusing on strength, power, cardio, and more!

Suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness. Instructors provide options to ensure those from all fitness levels can take part.

BoxFit

Box Fit is a boxing inspired workout designed to challenge your fitness and power. It is a great cardio workout that also improves for upper body shaping and strengthening.

A single functional workout that is unlike any other group fitness experience. Track your progress with real time heart rate monitors and try to match the beat. Suitable for all levels of fitness. Heart rate monitors are available to buy from reception.

Group Cycle – 45 Minutes

An indoor cycle class where you and the instructor track your progress throughout the workout. With longer intervals and endurance-focused sets, this session is ideal for building stamina and improving cardiovascular fitness. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Group Cycle – 30 Minutes

A shorter indoor cycle class designed for a quick, effective workout. This session focuses on bursts of intensity and is perfect for those with limited time. You and the instructor track your progress throughout. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Workout on demands

Leisureplex members can access free workouts on demand through MyWellness.

The MyWellness website has more than 50 workouts available to Leisureplex members. It includes workouts taught by the Leisureplex instructors you know and love.

To access the workouts on demand, simply sign up to MyWellness.
