Laser Cutter – Important update on conditions of use

To help keep the laser cutter running reliably and ensure successful outcomes for your projects, we will be trialling a simple Project Check process.

Before starting each laser cutting job, Makerspace users will be required to have their project reviewed by a member of the TEC team.

This quick check will confirm that the materials and machine settings are suitable for the job and help prevent unnecessary wear or damage to the equipment. This will also allow us to identify any issues before they impact the ongoing performance of the laser cutter.

TEC team members are available at Riverton Library most days. Please check the online Makerspace schedule to see available times. Outside of these times, use of the Laser Cutter is prohibited.

If you would like to use the laser cutter, please let library staff know when you arrive and they will arrange for a TEC team member to assist you.

Our goal is to keep the laser cutter operating safely and reliably so that everyone can continue to enjoy using this valuable Makerspace resource.
