Thanks to funding from the Department of Justice, the City of Canning is excited to deliver its second six-week block of Urban Art Mural Workshops for young people.
This free program is designed for young people and offers a hands-on opportunity to learn from an experienced mural artist while creating a vibrant public artwork on City assets. The workshops focus on building creativity, confidence, and community connection, while encouraging positive decision-making and raising awareness of mental health and locally available support services.
Workshop details:
- When: Tuesdays, 17 February – 14 March (after school)
- Where: Cannington
- Who: Young people who live in Cannington or surrounding areas
- Cost: Free – registration required
Facilitated by Australian mural artist and Art Therapist Olivia Robinson, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Explore mural design and street art techniques
- Develop creative and practical art skills
- Take part in mentoring and conversations around mental health and positive community impact
- Collaborate to design and paint a new community mural in a public space
This initiative forms part of the City’s commitment to building safe, connected and engaged neighbourhoods and is proudly supported by the Department of Justice.
