Friday Night Eats return to local parks in Canning
The City of Canning is excited to announce the return of its much-loved community dining series, Friday Night Eats, with four free events scheduled across local neighbourhood parks from October 2025 through March 2026.
Friday Night Eats launches with a fresh season of food trucks, live music and family-friendly activities to transform local parks into vibrant community hubs. Formerly known as Local Bite Nights, the series continues the City’s tradition of bringing great food and entertainment to neighbourhood green spaces, encouraging residents to enjoy their local parks and connect with neighbours close to home.
Mayor Hall said the program continues to be a highlight on the City’s events calendar.
“Friday Night Eats, which many residents may remember as Local Bite Nights, is about celebrating our local parks and giving families a chance to enjoy great food, entertainment, and each other’s company right in their own neighbourhood,” said Mayor Hall said.
“These events are not only free and inclusive, but they also strengthen community spirit and showcase the City’s commitment to making our parks welcoming and well-used spaces.”
- The 2025/26 Friday Night Eats program includes:
Friday 17 October 2025 – Maniana Park, Queens Park (5.30pm – 8.30pm) - Friday 2 November 2025 – Edgeware Park, Lynwood (6pm – 9pm) – featuring a Youth Services Community Movie Night
