You told us what you wanted for your local playgrounds, and now it's time to deliver!
We're upgrading a number of local playgrounds in the first half of 2021, with more to follow.
You asked for there to be a focus on more nature and adventure play, more inclusive and accessible play spaces and better shade.
Based on this feedback, and a review of our current playgrounds, we developed our Play Provision Strategy - our plan for playgrounds and play spaces over the next 20 years. The Strategy aims to make the City's playgrounds appropriate, fun, stimulating and more accessible for everyone.
To learn more about the Play Provision Strategy, and the consultation that the City has carried out with members of the community to inform this strategy, visit www.yoursaycanning.com.au/playprovision
You can also view and download a map of the parks being upgraded this financial year from this location.
In the Strategy, we identified some playgrounds that were in particular need of attention, and these will be the first to be upgraded. Each of these playgrounds is at a different stage and we are currently in the process of consulting with members of the community who live locally to each park listed below.
